In 2021, Red Hill pipeline leaked 20,000 gallons of fuel, contaminating water and sickening thousands of Pearl Harbor residents. Shannon Bencs says she alerted Navy officials, regulators and lawmakers of safety concerns before the disaster, but her warnings were allegedly ignored.

Honolulu’s Department of Transportation Services announced Monday that real-time GPS and HOLO card readers are back online after a network disruption on Saturday. The incident impacted phone lines, websites, and transit services, but there’s no indication sensitive financial or government data was compromised.

Shark warning signs posted across several Oʻahu beaches
Shark warning signs have been posted across several Oʻahu beaches in the past week after multiple reports of sightings and a fatal shark attack on Sunday. The latest sighting was made in waters near Puaʻena Point and Laniakea Beach Park, city officials say.
