Police seek ‘armed and extremely dangerous’ suspect in three Puna homicides


UPDATE 9:46 a.m.: Police are seeking 36-year-old Jacob Daniel Baker, of Pahoa, who is a suspect in three homicides in Puna.
Baker is considered armed and extremely dangerous. Police urge the public to not approach him. If seen, members of the public should contact 911 or (808) 935-3311.
This is an active and unfolding investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available, police said.
PREVIOUSLY:
Police are investigating the “suspicious deaths” of two elderly men that occurred in Puna in the past two days.
On Monday evening at 8:47 p.m., Puna patrol officers responded to a residence in the 14-000 block of Papaya Farms Road in Pahoa for a report of a dead man at the residence. Officers found an elderly dead man at the home.
Due to suspicious circumstances, detectives responded to the scene and are continuing the investigation. Positive identification of the victim is pending.
On Tuesday afternoon at 12:39 p.m., Puna patrol officers responded to a residence at the 14-300 block of Papaya Farms Road in Pahoa and found an elderly dead man at the residence with suspicious injuries.

Autopsies will be performed today on both victims to determine the exact causes of death.
