8-foot tiger shark sighted off Keālia Beach; officials say stay out of water

The shark was spotted at about 3 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 11). No injuries were reported. It also comes on the heels of two other shark sightings and a lifeguard/surfer getting bitten by a shark last week in waters off other Kaua‘i beaches.

Update: Weliweli Road drainage work delayed until January 2026

The work was originally slated to begin Nov. 10. More information will be provided when available.

ʻŌlelo to broadcast, stream Office of Hawaiian Affairs committee, board meetings
