HNL on List of Airports Where FAA Will Reduce Flights
The Federal Aviation Administration said Wednesday it will reduce flight capacity by 10% at 40 major airports across the country to ease the strain on air traffic controllers during the government shutdown. While the FAA hasn’t officially released the list of airports facing flight reductions, multiple news outlets and HNN’s sources say Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye Airport is one of them.

Hawaiʻi Schools Chief Gets $45,000 Raise as His 4-Year Contract Is Renewed
The state education board just cleared Hawaiʻi Superintendent Keith Hayashi to serve another four years with an 18% raise. That means he’ll see his pay rise from $249,600 to $294,674, and could earn up to $400,900 by the end of the decade. Hawaiʻi still lags mainland districts when it comes to pay for top school leaders.
