UH finds that 3D-printed shelters increase baby coral survival rates

To dramatically increase coral survival rates, scientists at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Hawaiʻi Institute of Marine Biology have developed innovative 3D-printed ceramic structures that provide crucial protection for baby corals.

A workshop to provide information on the Naturalization process will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11, at the J. Walter Cameron Center Conference Room 1 and 2 in Wailuku.

The Hawaiʻi International Film Festival returns to the MACC, Oct 19-20

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents the Maui Showcase for the Hawaiʻi International Film Festival (HIFF) with nine documentary films, including a collection of four short films, as well as one drama short film. Update: Kaua‘i firefighters extinguish 2 small brush fires in Pākala area in vicinity of Kaumualiʻi Highway

The first fire is estimated to have been 200-by-15-yards in size; the second blaze was smaller, and was located about 1 mile to the east. No injuries or damaged structures were reported.
