Hawaii island bus crash in Laupahoehoe sends 22 to hospital
Police said the incident occurred just before 5 a.m. at the 25.5 mile marker along Mamalahoa Highway, also known as Highway 19, in Laupahoehoe. Read more
Man, 42, dies after hit-and-run on Kauai; driver arrested
Police were able to track down the driver of the vehicle involved in the incident, a 2021 Chevrolet pickup truck, which displayed visible damage consistent with a pedestrian collision. Read more

EPA fines Grove Farm, Hawaii Gas for illegal cesspools on Kauai
Such cesspools were banned nationally in April 2005 as part of the Safe Drinking Water Act, the EPA said, because they collect and release untreated raw sewage into the ground. Read more
