Dredging of Pohoiki boat ramp has been underway for the past two weeks, as crews work to remove 42,000 cubic yards of black sand, rocks and boulders, deposited by the 2018 eruption of Kīlauea.

Hoʻoikaika Partnership has been selected as the next beneficiary of the ʻOhana Fuels “Fuel up. Do good.” program. From July through September 2025, a portion of every gallon of gasoline purchased at ʻOhana Fuels stations across Maui will be donated to support Hoʻoikaika Partnership’s work to strengthen families and prevent child maltreatment throughout Maui County.

Commencement ceremony honors first graduates from Women’s Court

The Hawaiʻi State Judiciary honored the first six graduates of its Mohala Wahine program—also known as Women’s Court—during a ceremony held Wednesday in the Supreme Court courtroom.

Temporary housing units to be moved onto private and secondary sites in West Maui

FEMA will begin moving temporary housing units from the staging site in Lahaina to private and secondary sites on June 26, 2025. Movement will take place over the next several weeks and will provide further available housing for wildfire survivors in West Maui. The first unit will be moved to a private site on June 26, 2025, with additional units to follow.
