HECO to Study Where to Underground Utility Lines as a Fire Prevention Measure

About half of Hawaiian Electric’s utility lines are underground. Some residents in fire-prone communities like Lahaina and Waikoloa would like to see more overhead lines put below ground. But the cost to underground lines is about $11 million per mile, according to HECO.

FDA Announces Recall for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nuts

The recall is for the company’s 0.6oz and 4oz sized bags due to the possible presence of undeclared almonds and cashews. So far, the FDA says that no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported to date in connection with this issue.
