California woman dies after being found floating, unresponsive, in waters just off Hanalei beach

Bystanders swiftly brought the woman, identified as 72-year-old Ricki Fehr, to shore after noticing her at the water’s edge. Personnel with Kaua‘i Fire Department and American Medical Response initiated advanced life-saving measures when they arrived at the scene.

Update: Police non-emergency line restored; other various Kaua‘i County phone lines down

Public advised to visit county website and email government services while phone issues persist. Kaua‘i County Information Technology Division is actively monitoring the situation.

The plan outlines 79 strategies to prepare for climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Several open houses are scheduled in May.
