Hilo man accused of burglarizing several businesses
Prosecutors have charged 27 year-old Samson Mahu of Hilo in relation to a series of burglaries that occurred between January and February at several Hilo businesses.
Mahu was charged in relation to burglaries at Leung’s Chop Suey House, Kenworth Hawaii, Daiichi Ramen and Kitchen & Beyond.
Mahu was located Feb. 12 and arrested by police.
Mahu was scheduled to make his initial appearance in Hilo Circuit Court this afternoon. He remained in custody in lieu of $448,000 bail.
Mahu was charged with 24 offenses in relation to the burglary incidents filed under five separate case numbers.
The most serious offense, first-degree theft, is a class B felony offense which carries a penalty of either a 10-year prison term or four years of probation and up to eighteen months in jail.
