Update: Police ID 19-year-old man killed in North Kona head-on crash involving motorcyle
Noah Edward Zandstra of Kailua-Kona was killed in the 2-vehicle crash Nov. 22 on Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway. Big Island police have determined speed was a factor when his Kawasaki Ninja sport collided with a Honda CR-V driven by a 65-year-old Waimea woman.

Kea‘au man caught on surveillance breaking into Puna business, taking Dodge Ram without permission
32-year-old Dylan Jessen Gapp of Kea‘au was arrested Saturday in Hawaiian Paradise Park after leading police on a short foot chase and stumbling into a small ditch day after he was seen driving reportedly stolen truck. He is charged with second-degree burglary, first-degree theft and several other offenses.

77-year-old Lowell Thomas Pofahl of Nānāwale Estates faces several charges including second-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault following a domestic incident the night of Nov. 22, after which he called Hawai‘i Police Department dispatch and told authorities he tried to kill his wife.
