Ocean View man charged after allegedly shooting at girlfriend’s uninvited ex-boyfriend following heated argument

49-year-old Bradford Borum faces charges including terroristic threatening and criminal property damage connected with the incident. Because the man who reported being shot at went to Borum’s home unannounced and uninvited, a counter-complaint was also made, which will be forwarded to the Office of the County Prosecutor of Hawai‘i County for review.

Expect traffic delays with night hauling of Kilohana temporary modular homes

Maui traffic delays can be expected from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. the next day on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 16-17, according to the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation. Trucks will be hauling temporary modular homes for wildfire survivors from a baseyard on Hansen Road to the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Kilohana temporary housing site in Lahaina.

Maui Cancer Resources to host Survivors’ Holiday Social on Nov. 30

Maui Cancer Resources will host a holiday get-together for cancer survivors from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 30 at Trinity Episcopal Church By-the-Sea in Kīhei.

Hawaiian Electric monitoring wildfire risk conditions

Hawaiian Electric is continuing to monitor weather conditions across the leeward areas of the islands in light of the National Weather Service’s Red Flag Warning for Friday, Nov. 15. If necessary, Hawaiian Electric may implement its Public Safety Power Shutoff program within the next 24 hours and proactively shut off power in communities with high exposure to wildfire risk, company officials said on Thursday. Customers in these areas are urged to review their own emergency plans and prepare for the possibility of extended power outages.
