Public input sought on Kahuku Unit plan

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is inviting the community to provide input about a plan to manage the Kahuku Unit, which is a separate area of the park that encompasses 132,000-plus acres in Ka‘u.

Police arrest 16 for DUI

During the week of Oct. 28 to Nov. 3, Hawaii Island police arrested 16 motorists for DUI. Nine of the drivers were involved in a traffic accident. Two of the drivers were under the age of 21.

Suspect sought in Hilo burglary

Police detectives are requesting the public’s assistance to help identify the suspect in a burglary that occurred during the early morning hours of Thursday, Oct. 10.
