Summer tourism bump going flat as fall nears

Visitors to Hawaii continued to decline in July, although the downturn was offset by strengthening in arrivals from Hawaii’s core U.S. West market and from Japan, Hawaii’s top international market.

‘Hobbit House’ hit hard by Hone

A well-known house in Ka‘u that was once a bed-and-breakfast sustained major flood damage as Tropical Storm Hone passed to the south of the Big Island over the weekend.

Small plane makes emergency landing in North Kohala

The Hawaii Police Department said that shortly before 11 a.m. today, North Kohala patrol officers responded to a report that a small Cessna airplane made an emergency hard landing in pasture land south of Upolu Airport in Hawi.
