The Honolulu Police Department on Thursday unveiled a new 911 feature that seeks to better handle “abandoned” or disconnected calls. As part of the new feature, set to be rolled out on Sept. 5, the system will call back the person who dialed 911.

Hawai‘i’s Condo Insurance Crisis Is Now Hurting Sales

Sales fell 48% in Waikīkī and 38% in Makiki-Mō‘ili‘ili in June. Both neighborhoods have lots of underinsured, older condo buildings.

Is this the year a climate impact fee will pass in the state Legislature?

State Department of Land and Natural Resources Chair Dawn Chang commented on the fee, also known as the “green fee,” at a recent Hawaiʻi Invasive Species Council meeting. She said that in 2025, Gov. Green will declare it the ‘year of climate change.’

Kauaʻi County considers bill to add $200 surcharge for illegal highway parking

Kauaʻi could soon start giving police money to enforce illegal parking or stopping on state highways. The Kauaʻi County Council has introduced a bill to tap into the State Highway Enforcement Program Surcharge Fund, which was established in 2019.
