Voluntary evacuation notice lifted; Waiehu brush fire 80% contained as of 10:40 a.m.

Kahekili Highway reopened, and voluntary evacuations were lifted as of 10:30 a.m. today after a brush fire triggered precautionary measures early this morning in Waiehu, according to the Maui Emergency Management Agency. Officials reported the blaze 80% contained, although still advised vigilance.
