Everywhere you looked Saturday at Mo‘oheau Park and Bandstand in downtown Hilo, the party was hopping. Diversity was on display in several different senses of the word. Friends and family came together to have fun. Smiles and hugs were commonplace and given out freely. There was joy, laughter, happiness, inclusiveness and acceptance. All attributes that lend themselves to celebration.

House bill meant to limit governor’s emergency powers could be vetoed

Some examples where Gov. Green might want to use his powers to shut down media communications include extreme violence or acts of terrorism. The governor has until July 10 to decide whether or not to kill the bill.

‘A tigerific time’: Don’t miss Tiger Fun Day at Pana‘ewa Rainforest Zoo in Hilo
