Police arrest 25 for DUI

During the week of June 10-16, Hawaii Island police arrested 25 motorists for DUI. Five of the drivers were involved in a traffic accident. Two of the drivers were younger than 21.

Police: Traffic stop turns up drugs, firearms

Authorities say a routine traffic stop in Puna resulted in the arrest of a felon and recovery of more than 400 grams of crystal methamphetamine, smaller amounts of cocaine and heroin and a loaded semi-automatic 9mm pistol.

All access to Haiku Stairs region closed for removal

The state Department of Land and Natural Resources and the City and County of Honolulu announced Wednesday the closure of the entire Moanalua Section of the Honolulu Watershed Forest Reserve — also known as Middle Ridge — and the Moanalua Valley Neighborhood Park for the removal of the Haiku Stairs.
