FAA investigating after helicopter makes hard landing near Kona International Airport

KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii (Island News) — The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating after a helicopter made a hard landing near the Kona International Airport, Thursday morning.

Few details about the incident have been released. According to the FAA, a Robinson R22 helicopter made a hard landing around 8:45 a.m. The aircraft’s registration number is N333PJ, according to the FAA.

Two people were on board the helicopter during the landing. Their conditions are not known at this time.

The FAA is investigating this incident.
