The measure, introduced by Puna Councilwoman Ashley Kierkiewicz, would establish apiary management practices for sound and sustainable beekeeping and add apiaries to the list of allowable uses in all zoning districts on the Big Island.

Puna man arrested on firearm offenses and violation of court order
In February, Dylan Jessen Gapp was arrested and charged with the class C felony. A restraining order was filed against the 31-year-old in March. He was scheduled for a preliminary hearing in court on April 9, however, he was a no-show.
