Haines, appointed by Trump during his first term, ruled that the administration must give potential deportees at least 21 days’ notice and the opportunity to challenge their removals, to avoid the possibility that people who are not gang members “may be errantly removed from this country.” Read more

The order published late on Monday offers some relief to big Chinese e-commerce players Shein and Temu and follows a weekend deal between Beijing and Washington to unwind for 90 days most of the tit-for-tat tariffs imposed on each other’s goods since early April. Read more

Maui doctor accused of trying to kill wife held without bail
Konig, an anesthesiologist on Maui, was indicted on the charge of second-degree murder for allegedly attempting to kill his wife, Arielle Konig, in multiple ways. Read more

Par Hawaii fined nearly $170K for hazardous waste violations
In a notice of violation and order, DOH said Par Hawaii committed three violations: the illegal disposal of hazardous waste at a facility not permitted to dispose of it; failure to make a hazardous waste determination; and failure to use a uniform hazardous waste manifest for transportation.
